About Wajinah Restaurant (Nan)

If you’re exploring the food scene in Kota Bharu and want a place that locals casually point you to without overthinking it, Wajinah Restaurant (Nan) is one of those names that comes up naturally. I usually describe it as a straightforward, comfort-first restaurant that focuses on feeding people well rather than trying to impress with trends. Located along Jalan Dusun Muda in Bandar Kota Bharu, this spot fits perfectly into the everyday rhythm of the city, making it easy to drop by whether you’re nearby for work, errands, or just wandering around looking for something satisfying. The vibe feels relaxed and practical, the kind of restaurant where conversations flow easily and meals arrive without unnecessary delays. What makes Wajinah Restaurant (Nan) especially approachable is how flexible it is, because you can sit down and enjoy your meal at a steady pace or opt for takeaway if you’re on the move and need something quick. The menu leans toward halal food, which makes it a comfortable choice for a wide range of diners, and the offerings are designed to match different moods and times of day without feeling overwhelming. Whether you’re stopping in for coffee, grabbing a quick bite between plans, or sharing small plates with friends, the experience stays easy and familiar. Late-night food is also part of the appeal, especially for those evenings when options start to thin out but your appetite hasn’t gone anywhere. From my perspective, this restaurant works because it understands its role in the neighborhood and keeps things simple without cutting corners. It doesn’t try to be complicated, and that’s exactly why people keep coming back. The focus on practical service, accessible food choices, and a no-fuss environment gives Wajinah Restaurant (Nan) a dependable charm that fits right into Kota Bharu’s everyday dining culture, especially for visitors who want something local, casual, and reliably satisfying without needing a long introduction.

Nan memang lembut, hangat, lagi Padu, tapi it would really help if there's more variety to the kuahs, any sort of spicy sambal would be very welcomed

I prefer to take this roti nan with lamb curry.. but chicken curry is nice too. It is just a small road side store, don't compare it to a big restaurant. Usually it is crowded usually during weekends. There are times I have to wait for 20 minutes to get the food and drinks. I have no complaints about the cleanliness or the staff at this place. The pricing is also reasonable

I love the roti tempayan (bread) as well as the kuah kari (curry) that accompany the bread. The options are kari kambing (mutton curry), kari ayam (chicken curry) and kari daging (beef curry). The prices of the food are cheap, while the taste are great.

Our family's favourite for roti nan and lamb curry. Daging cincang option also good. I'd come every day if I can. Price very affordable for taste and portion. A bit crowded if you went at peak dinner time. Before 9pm already have to arrive. So that the previous batch who come after Maghrib already finished their meals. I wish I can visit a restaurant like this in KL. Sadly can only enjoy it once in a while bila balik kampung. The best roti nan kari kambing in Kota Bharu.

Nice place for roti tempayan. The nan is soft and the curry is quite good.
